Barite
High‑density barium sulphate for drilling and industry.
Barite is a mineral composed of barium sulphate (BaSO4). Barite occurs in many depositional environments, and is deposited through many processes including biogenic, hydrothermal, and evaporation, among others. Barite commonly occurs in lead-zinc veins in limestones, in hot spring deposits, and with hematite ore. It is often associated with the minerals anglesite and celestine. It has also been identified in meteorites.

Applications
Where barite goes to work.

Oil & Gas
Barite is widely used as a weighting agent in drilling fluids for oil and gas exploration. It controls pressure, stabilizes boreholes, and improves drilling efficiency.

Paint & Plastic
Used as a filler in paints and plastics to improve durability, smoothness, and chemical resistance. Barite enhances brightness and reduces production costs.

Automobile
Barite is used in automotive components such as brake pads, clutch pads, and soundproofing materials. It improves density, durability, and vibration resistance.

Glass & Ceramics
Used in glass and ceramic manufacturing to improve brightness, hardness, and chemical resistance. Barite enhances product finish and thermal stability.
